What is the history of CBD?


It dates back to China, in 2737 BC when cannabis was first brewed in a cup of tea by Emperor Cheng Neng. It was also the first use of the cannabis plant for therapeutic purposes. It was observed that over time, the use of cannabis tea can treat gout, malaria, and rheumatism. Similarly, along with physical effects on the body, its effects were observed on the mind too as it improved cognitive and executive functions of the brain.
Upon the modernization of medicine, attempts were made to isolate the active ingredients in cannabis in the 19th century. Cannabidiol was discovered in 1940 from Egyptian Cannabis indica and Minnesota wild hemp.


What is CBG?


CBG is an acronym for Cannabigerol. CBG is a type of cannabinoid acquired from the cannabis plant. It's considered the quintessential form of all cannabinoids. This is due to its different way of derivation. Other cannabinoids are acquired from cannabigerol acid (CBGA), an acidic form of CBG.


Is Hemp legal?


Yes. As of 2018, hemp is federally legal in all 50 states, but it is still regulated. Hemp is also called industrial hemp. It is a plant of the family of Cannabis sativa cultivars that are planted specifically for industrial and therapeutic purposes. Like bamboo, hemp is also one of the fastest-growing plant species on Earth. The history of hemp use goes back to 50,000 years ago when it was first used to make usable fiber. It can now be derived for many applications and in items such as paper, rope, textiles, clothing, environment-friendly plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, food, and animal feed. The legality of Hemp depends on the concentrations of total Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is the principal psychoactive constituent of cannabis. If the THC content is higher, one can feel euphoria and a sense of relaxation. As psychoactive effects are subjective experiences, it varies from person to person. Some can feel heightened sensory perception, behavioral changes, changes in perception of time, and an abnormal appetite. However, Hemp has a lower content of THC but a higher content of cannabidiol (CBD), which neutralizes the psychoactive effects of THC. The legal status of hemp is different from state to state. Some authorities regulate the content of THC and allow only hemp with low THC concentrations for industrial production.

In herbal medicine, a tincture is an extract of any plant used for therapeutic purposes. It is typically consumed orally. It is a solution that is made with alcohol and water. Alcohol helps in acquiring the extract from the plant and preserving it to use and store for longer periods of time. Just like any tincture, a Cannabis tincture is also a liquid that is infused with cannabis products. It is similarly made by alcohol which extracts the terpenes and cannabinoids from the plant.


What does Full-Spectrum mean?


Full spectrum CBD is a type of CBD that consists of all the goodness one can find in a cannabis plant. These can include chemical compounds such as Cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and terpenes, which give the plant its fragrance. Moreover, Terpenes are also beneficial in treating many diseases such as asthma and other inflammatory conditions. It also contains Flavonoids which are also therapeutically effective.

 

Will CBD get me high?


To get high from any cannabis-based compound it needs to have a considerable amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content which is a mind-altering substance. CBD comes from cannabis but it contains either inconsiderable or no THC content. In short, CBD won't get you high. However, some research shows that it helps relax and calm down the nerves without getting you high. Thus, not everyone feels the same effects of it.


Will CBD work for me?
